Recently, I've been interested in early avant garde films, per the image example you see here. I stumbled onto www.ubu.com and found some great films. Here is a still from the 1973 film by Toshio Matsumoto, Mona Lisa. I'd seen this before, but didn't realize it until I started watching it again.
Ubu.com recommended using the VLC player from www.videolan.org if you had a MAC. These files are pretty large and in .AVI format.
After I downloaded one film on my PC, Un Chant d'Amour (1951) by Jean Genet and lensed by Jean Cocteau, I tried using Windows Media Player 11. It didn't work, so I thought to download the Windows version of VLC, where it did play.

When you do a screen capture, it goes directly into your My Pictures folder. The films play very well in Quicktime as my friend Robert and I discovered.
