Am working with ETS/TOEFL today in Emeryville, CA. The setup is lengthy and problematic, if you don't make the errors first. You do meet very nice people who really wanted to certified.

Today I went to Wikipedia and looked up human longevity and manned spaceflight. Stephen Hawking finally said what I have always said: To prevent the destruction of the Earth, personkind must colonize other worlds as quickly as possible and it already might be too late.

More later!

Recently, I've been interested in early avant garde films, per the image example you see here. I stumbled onto www.ubu.com and found some great films.

Here is a still from the 1973 film by Toshio Matsumoto, Mona Lisa. I'd seen this before, but didn't realize it until I started watching it again.

Ubu.com recommended using the VLC player from www.videolan.org if you had a MAC. These files are pretty large and in .AVI format. After I downloaded one film on my PC, Un Chant d'Amour (1951) by Jean Genet and lensed by Jean Cocteau, I tried using Windows Media Player 11. It didn't work, so I thought to download the Windows version of VLC, where it did play.

To my surprise, it offers many options, such as sound modulation and still making. When you do a screen capture, it goes directly into your My Pictures folder. The films play very well in Quicktime as my friend Robert and I discovered.
Welcome to a blog of insight.
